Technically, yesterday was the first day of spring since the equinox occurred at 10:48pm on March 19th (at least for those of us observing Pacific Daylight Time). But it’s close enough, except it doesn’t look like spring outside.

Here is what it looked like when I left for work this morning. If you look carefully, you can see snowflake trails in the picture of the house.

Welcome to spring!

I remember getting snow on Easter a few times as a child. It looks like this year could bring snow again — we have an 80% chance of rain and snow on Sunday morning.

One more piece of spring trivia, for those who haven’t already received it in their inbox: The earliest possible date for Easter is March 22. The last time Easter fell on March 23 was in 1913. More Easter date details at Snopes.com.
